New Orleans-Style Iced Coffee
How to Create: New Orleans-Style Iced Coffee
Sweet, Creamy, Always Delicious
Affectionately known as NOLA, our original New Orleans-Style Iced Coffee is a bold blend of specialty coffee slowly cold-brewed with roasted chicory and cut with just the right touch of sugar and your choice of milk.
To make our NOLA at home, we provide our whole-bean coffee, a bag of roasted chicory, and a recipe to get you started. You add your milk of choice, sugar, ice, and a little bit of time.

How to Create
Step 1: Grind the coffee on a coarse setting.
Step 2: If using a Toddy: Insert the stopper into the Toddy brewing container. Dampen the reusable felt filter and place at the bottom of the container. Place the Toddy paper filter bag inside the container and pour in the ground coffee, chicory, and water. Stir until the grounds are fully saturated. Twist the top of the bag until closed and let steep for 12 hours at room temperature. Remove the stopper so that the cold brew is strained into the glass pitcher. Discard the paper filter and coffee grounds.
If using a pot: Combine the coffee and chicory with the water in the pot and stir until the grounds are fully saturated. Cover and steep for 12 hours at room temperature. Carefully pour the concentrate through a fine-mesh sieve into a glass jar or other nonreactive vessel.

How to Serve
Step 3: Serve at once, or cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
Step 4: To serve, fill a tall glass with ice.
Step 5: Pour in NOLA cold brew concentrate and milk of your choice.
Step 6: Sweeten to taste with simple syrup or other preferred sweetener.
Instead of sweetening each NOLA to taste, you can sweeten the entire concentrate. In Step 2, after filtering it, add ¼ cup simple syrup. To prepare the simple syrup: In a small pot, combine 3 tablespoons sugar with 3 tablespoons water and warm over low heat until dissolved. Note that while the unsweetened concentrate keeps for up to 1 week, sweetened concentrate should only be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
