A Feeling, a Memory, a Taste of Home
Created with Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and his mother, Samra, Samra Blend Vol. 1 is a glimpse into their lives. Through their guidance, we created this iconic Ethiopian flavor profile that resembles the coffee used in a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, Buna Tetu, that he and Samra performed regularly as a family.
For Samra Blend Vol. 1, we chose two Ethiopian coffees from METAD—one washed, one natural processed. We experimented with roasting until the basic elements came together to create something beyond coffee. Sweet and bright, this coffee shines both hot and iced.
