Timor Leste Letefoho Mautlio
Letefoho
On the Southeast Asian island of Timor, the country of Timor Leste is not known for delicious coffee. But that’s quickly changing. Coffee was planted in the high-elevation interior by the Portugese 150 years ago; today it’s the country’s only cash crop. Its region of Letefoho is home to a unique variety called Tim Tim. This groundbreaking example comes from the Letefoho village of Mautlio. Delicately tropical, it shows what innovative farmers there are doing to express the variety’s full potential.
