Timor Leste Letefoho Eratoi
Our very first single origin from the island nation of East Timor comes from the smallholder farmers in Eratoi village. Delicate and yet complex, it’s a hard-won coffee whose remarkable story began nearly a century ago, when a spontaneous cross between Arabica and Robusta occurred and Timor Hybrid was born. A hybrid like this rarely occurs without the help of a botanist’s hand. Tim Tim, as it’s also called, went on to rescue several Latin American countries’ coffee economies when local coffee trees succumbed to disease. This year, we’re serving our first single origins from Tim Tim’s native habitat, for despite a long history of coffee cultivation in East Timor, specialty-worthy coffee is only now surfacing.
