Alex Jiménez and Ilvar Bermeo have quite a bit in common. They both have small farms with good elevation in the Quilanga Cantón of Loja, Ecuador. They are both growing mostly Typica variety coffee (though Ilvar also has some Caturra on his farm). They are both second generation producers who have been farming for eight years. They are both contributing members of Aprocairo, a growers association in Quilanga. And they both produce awesome coffee, like what you’re holding right now. Quilanga is delightfully buttery, with flavors of cashew, dark chocolate, and Raisinettes.
