Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0022
Hours This Week
In 1912—nearly three decades after a train station in the quiet community of Shinjuku opened—American poet, Ezra Pound, wrote two short lines describing the bustle of people in a Parisian train station: They were, as he famously put it, “petals on a wet, black bough.”
Now, with upwards of three million travelers per day, the Shinjuku station is the busiest train station in the world, and we can’t help but be drawn to the sensory crush of this Tokyo metropolis. Located on the station’s south side in the NEWoMan retail community, our cafe brings a calming center and serenity to the whirl of commuters, tourists, shoppers, and office workers. With high ceilings, bright interior, and as many windows as we could possibly manage, it’s a place where many people will experience our coffee for the first time, and that’s a privilege we’re not taking lightly.
We serve our full menu of drip coffee and espresso drinks, and to better serve our on-the-move guests, we’ve installed two espresso machines. Come enjoy pastries in our spacious dining area, and watch the apparition of all those faces in the crowd.
